ANOTHER WORLD SHORT BREAK

1 day trip to Inishturk Island for guided walk to cliffs and deep sea fishing.

Stay 2 nights at Sharamore House with one evening meal and have a day trip to Inishturk Island for a guided trek.

We set off from Cleggan aboard our own boat Blue Water for the 40 min trip to Inishturk making a fishing stop en-route to see if we can catch Mackerel, Pollock or maybe a Cod.

We land on Inishturk and you can either relax on the beach or go on the guided walk with the skipper, John Brittain, around the Island which takes approx. 2 ½ hours. The walk is mostly on roads/paths and it is easy although there are a couple of hills along the way. It passes the cliffs on the west end where thousands of sea birds nest and visits the ruins of the Napoleonic watchtower on the highest point of the island with a spectacular view of the mainland from Achill to Slyne Head. The walk finishes at the community centre for a cup of tea or something stronger.

The trip is limited to 12 people. Everyone should bring a coat and the walkers appropriate footwear. For more information on the island see our Inishturk Page
